Health Insurance
A plan that covers or shares the expenses associated with health care. These plans fall into three classifications: 1. Commercial health insurance, which is provided by insurance companies 2. Private noncommercial health insurance, which is provide by Red Crescent or similar authority and 3. Social insurance, which is provided by social security. Category 2 and 3 are not popular in UAE at the moment.
Medical Insurance is now mandatory for all residents/resident visa holders in Abu Dhabi and Dubai Emirates.
Group Medical Insurance
A Group Medical Insurance plan is an insurance that provides medical benefits to a select group of people. Group Medical Insurance plans are one of the major benefits offered by many employers. These plans are generally uniform in nature, offering the same benefits to all employees or members of the group. Plans can be designed according to the requirement of the employer.
Individual Medical Insurance
Individual Medical Insurance covers medical expenses for illnesses, injuries and conditions. But, unlike a plan through an employer, individual medical insurance is something you select and pay for on your own. Coverage can be made available for the individual’s family members too.
Medical Malpractice Insurance
Medical Professional Liability Insurance known as Medical Malpractice Insurance, is one type of professional liability insurance which protects physicians and other licensed health care professionals (e.g., Physicians, surgeons, dentist, nurse, para medical helpers and similar professionals in medical profession) from liability associated with wrongful practices/negligence resulting in bodily injury, medical expenses and property damage, as well as the cost of defending lawsuits related to such claims.
